Scratch resistant sapphire crystal covers the dial completely except for the date display at the 3 o'clock position which is visible through a partially transparent element of the overall sapphire construction but primarily protected by the main crystal lens positioned over this section against unscheduled contact or abrasion directly impacting exposed indices although all areas are protected under normal conditions.
